Building the Rationale For the Monitoring Activity

The Rationale area of the Plan section allows users to review and edit the rationale for the strategy and approach for the year’s Field Monitoring activity, taken as a whole, for the entire Country Office, including Field Offices. Users can see who made the last changes and when. Also, there's the possibility of attaching documents. Notice that the Rationale locks on the 31st of December of each calendar year.

The year for the displayed rationale can be selected via the drop-down in the upper-left corner of the Rationale area:

Editing the Rationale

To edit the currently displayed rationale, the user should click the Edit button at the upper-right corner:

The following form will appear on the screen:

The form allows editing the following rationale sections:

  • Prioritization Criteria;

  • Methodology Notes & Standards;

  • Modalities;

  • Target Visits for the Year;

  • Partner Engagement;

  • Other Comments.

Notice that each text field is limited to 10,000 characters.

To save made changes, click the Save button. The info on the user who made the last changes and their date will appear next to the Edit button:

Attaching Documents

The list of all available attachments is displayed at the bottom part of the Rationale area:

To attach a new document, click the "+" button:

The following form will appear on the screen:

The Document Type field allows choosing from the following options:

  • SOP;

  • Other.

To select a file to upload, click the Upload File button and choose a specific file. After that, click the Add button.

Editing and Removing Attachments

To edit a specific attached document, click the Edit button:

The following form will appear on the screen:

Using this form, users can modify the document type, download, or change the attached document. To save made changes, click the Save button.

To delete a particular attached document, click the Delete button:

If you want to confirm file deletion, click the Delete button or click the Cancel button otherwise:
