# Field Monitoring Module Documentation

## Documentation Overview

The aim of this documentation is to describe the Field Monitoring Module (FMM) of eTools.

The documentation has a navigation sidebar on the left side of the screen, which can be used to find and open a particular article. Each article also has navigation links at the bottom to move to the next article.

This documentation consists of 3 main parts:

* **Introduction** (includes a glossary, release article, contact information);
* **Product (end-user documentation).** Here you can find the description of:
  * [General overview](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/overview.md) and [user rights](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/user-roles-and-permissions.md);
  * [Access to the FMM](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/field-monitoring-module-navigation.md);
  * [Settings section](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/settings-section.md);
  * [Plan section](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/plan-section.md);
  * [Collect section](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/collect-section.md);
  * [Analyze section](/etools-field-monitoring/product-end-user-documentation/analyze-section.md).
* **Technical documentation** describing the technical background and properties of the FM module.

## Design Philosophy of FMM

The UX / visual design philosophy builds on [Google Material Design](https://material.io/guidelines/), with variations.

## Technical Design of FMM

The technical design philosophy for FMM builds on what has already been established by the eTools team at UNICEF. For more information, see here: <https://github.com/unicef/etools>.
